About

Welcome to The NJ Review! My name is Zhifa, and I’m your host. I’m a medical doctor by training, though I’m currently not practicing clinically. I’m working full-time as a public health professional, which is somehow harder to explain than simply saying “I’m a physician”. I work at the intersection of medicine, education, and global health equity, building programs that help people learn, access care, and thrive. Hopefully, God willing, I’m contributing something meaningful along the way.

I’m learning how to speak Urdu, play tennis, and publish on this blog regularly, mostly to build discipline and to keep promises I make to myself. My hobbies include reading, telling people about the book I’m reading, listening to my amazing playlist, telling people about my amazing playlist, walking in the park, sitting on a park bench reading a good book with a fire playlist, and being smart and funny! I’m convinced that my long-term trajectory includes scholarly publications, books, probably directing a movie, and a Netflix stand-up special starring yours truly.

I hope to share meaningful, informative, and entertaining content on this website. Wish you all a very happy reading!
